ABCFP Resignation Request

Read before applying:

  • Registrants with more than one designation: If you hold more than one ABCFP professional designation (e.g., RFT, ATE), the application for change of status will apply to all of your ABCFP professional designations. If you are applying to change only one of your registrant categories, contact the registration department before applying.
  • Sponsors: Registrants who resign are not eligible to remain a sponsor. You must also advise the trainee(s) you are mentoring that you are no longer eligible to be a sponsor. Inform the trainees(s) they should seek a new sponsor immediately and notify the association of the change. If they do not, trainees will not receive credit for their work experience. Change of Sponsor forms are available on our website.
  • Non-Practice Declaration: Read the definition of the practice of professional forestry as defined in the Forest Professional Regulation  and be prepared to acknowledge that you are not engaged in the practice of professional forestry in BC.
  • Return Certificate and Stamp/Seal: If you are a practicing registrant (RFT or RPF), an associate registrant (AM, ATC, ATE, NRP, SAS), or a limited licensee who wishes to resign, you must surrender your certificate of registration, seal, and stamp to the registrar and director of act compliance by mail.
