Art Contest | Photo Contest

Art Contest For Kids

Hundreds of children got out their crayons and pencils to show what the forest means to them. The Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP) and the Truck Loggers Association (TLA) were thrilled with the creative pictures entered in their art contest.

Photo Contest

This year, the photo contest was open to two categories of entrants – ABCFP members, and START subscribers (high school and post-secondary students who are interested in forestry). Check out the stunning winning entries below.

Huddart
Sue Huddart, RFT(Ret),
submitted the winning photo in the member category. This image features an algae bloom on Scuitto Lake near Kamloops.

Bapty
First runner up from the membership is Jacob Bapty, RPF, Cert. Arb., MSFM, with his photo taken while car camping south of Nimpkish Lake on Vancouver Island.

Tiramani
Second runner up from the membership is Frank Tiramani, FIT, with his photo of two bears cubs climbing in a grove of aspen trees.

Locker
University of British Columbia student Jackson Locker submitted the winning photo in the START category.
