Council elections occur each year, assuming there are more council nominations than vacancies. Newly elected or acclaimed councillors take office at the annual general meeting following the election. The process for appointing lay councillors is handled separately.

Voting Eligibility

The 71st ABCFP Council Election will run from December 12, 2017 to January 12, 2018.

All eligible members can vote once either by email or a mail-in ballot. Ensure that your communications preferences have been updated to reflect how you wish to vote (under Manage my Membership, then select the Contact Info tab; it will be the third item under the Communications Preference header).

Instructions on how to vote will be sent along with your email or in your mail-in council election voting package.

REGISTERED FOREST TECHNOLOGIST


The election for councillors from the Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) membership category has three (3) candidates vying for two (2) positions. One position is for a three (3)-year term, the second is for a two (2)-year term. The RFT candidate with the highest number of votes will be assigned the three (3)-year term; the candidate with the second highest number of votes will be assigned the two (2)-year term.

Ensure that you confirmed your online vote or have sent in your ballots to our office before 11:55 PM on January 12, 2018.
